JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Recruitment, Training, and Development is an integral member of the Cultural, Spiritual, and Residential Life team. Traveling across the global network, this innovative leader will develop, implement, lead, and cultivate the recruitment, on-boarding, training, development, and continued education of the staff members living and working on Northeastern’s campuses and sites.
The Manager will develop and implement competency-based training and development opportunities for members focused on direct student engagement. All training and development opportunities will be developed to enhance and support the University’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
The Manager will use innovative approaches for onboarding and developing staff, actively researching, creatively designing, and implementing effective methods to educate and enhance an employee’s connection to Northeastern. Delivering a wide variety of modalities including on-campus, online live with facilitation, asynchronous online programs, and hybrid models to meet the needs of a dynamic and growing global team.
While this position is based on the Boston campus, the successful candidate will be willing and able to travel across Northeastern’s global campus network to assist with training, recruitment, and staff development needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective program management, organizational administrative skills. Ability to make complex decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, and experience. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and administrators in a complex, fast-paced and diverse environment. Ability to influence others to reach agreement. Knowledge and skills required for this position are often obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in education, student personnel, leadership development, human resources, or similar field, and at least 6 years of related experience. Master’s degree preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Recruitment, Training & Development:
  • Develop and implement training and on-going educational opportunities for all Cultural, Spiritual, and Residential Life and NUin program professional and para-professional staff across the global network.
  • Develop and execute creative talent acquisition strategies to build a top tier workforce and a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Ensure an onboarding journey that embraces the user experience.
  • Provide direction for the development of departmental, strategic, and operational planning, and evaluation and assessment efforts designed to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the global network.
  • Support Cultural, Spiritual, and Residential Life and (across the network) with recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes for all levels of staff (including para-professional student staff.)
  • Develop and implement effective diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings and growth opportunities that are aimed at increasing awareness of DE&I best practices on college campuses, creating an affirming culture of respect and inclusion for identities.
2) Curriculum Development:
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a departmental curriculum.
  • Manage the development and implementation of Resident Assistant Residence Director, and Emergency On-Call Team Manuals.
  • Establish and implement monthly and annual reports highlighting progress toward learning goals, DE&I training opportunities and outcomes, etc.
3) Assessment:
  • Establish and cultivate partnerships with Faculty, Students, and Staff across the global network.
  • Partner with Residential Life and serve as a consultant for Living Learning Community support, providing guidance for curriculum and program development.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret benchmarking and community surveys for Cultural, Spiritual, and Residential Life.
4) Crisis Management:
  • Serve in the Executive Director on-call rotation for the Boston Campus
  • Provide crisis management assistance through immediate response and follow up.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of departmental and university crisis response policies and procedures.
