POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Maintenance Applications will cultivate strong business relationships with the maintenance and reliability functional leads at all sites and lead the successful delivery of application centric solutions for the Company's key maintenance and reliability applications and systems. This position requires deep knowledge of Maximo as well as general knowledge of plant maintenance processes. This hands-on leader will assume responsibility for the production of all current and future Maximo related modules and interfaces required by the business to support all business requirements. The manager is expected to develop close working relationships with other business partners in Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement and other shared services.

The manager will also need to support, design, troubleshoot, analyze and sometimes debug software programs for end user applications. The manager must understand IT process strategy, service management and change management processes. The manager must have the ability to design highly complex enhancements and resolve complex issues while providing recommendations for process enhancements and efficiencies for the maintenance and reliability applications and systems within the portfolio. This individual must be able to work across organizational boundaries and gain support from key stakeholders. This individual will participate and coordinate analysis, design and implementation planning with external vendors, contractors, etc. The manager will serve as a mentor and share best practices with other members of the team. The manager holds others accountable to established performance levels as well as trains team members in the skills (technical and non-technical) needed to succeed and advance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline required or may substitute an equivalent combination of professional certifications demonstrating technical proficiency, education and experience.
  • SQL Certified Expert; Enterprise Manager; Enterprise Architect; Business Intelligence considered a plus.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas a Plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of experience with Maximo application version 6.x and 7.x - including technical and functional analysis and configurations.
  • 7+ years of experience desired but not required in developing solutions with Developer tools.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management and proficiency with leading project teams a plus.
  • Extensive experience in all Maximo modules.
  • Ability to manage creation of development specifications ensuring they meet user and business requirements, by having feasibility meetings translating needs into technical requirements and identify system impact from small and large scale projects.
  • Ability to readily comprehend business expectations that affect the current enterprise architecture and future strategy.
  • Significant management experience, leading employee and contractor teams.
  • Displays competencies in incident management, problem management, change management and service requests and documentation; demonstrates leadership ability to develop and propose overall strategy, architecture and process improvements.
  • Ability to establish performance levels to achieve individual and group goals; trains in necessary skills needed to succeed and advance.
  • Knowledge of PCMS, the company's standard for reliability management, is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, oral and written required.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for managing the Maximo application, functional and technical development, projects and support activities.
  • Act as business liaison, cultivating strong relationships, relying on experience to develop strategic roadmap and bring value added solutions to emerging requirements.
  • Elicit true business requirements and follows methodical approach toward identifying solution options.
  • Establish and review budgets, priorities and plans and provide status updates for each Maximo instance.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of the identified Maximo solutions and interfaces.
  • Develop plans, coordinate team resources and drive to successful execution within time and budget parameters.
  • Lead the directive in analysis, design, modeling, testing and implementation activities by providing guidance and recommendations for process enhancements and efficiencies for the modules within the Maximo suite of applications.
  • Provide operational support for day-to-day processing and focal point for questions related to Maximo systems and integration points.
  • Ensure current environment is operating effectively and optimized to leverage all available features.
  • Coordinate development of integration activities internally within Maximo and with other business applications.
  • Provide guidance / mentoring to staff to raise their competencies.
  • Drive priority and direction of future business needs around Maximo including but not limited to infrastructure, applications, data standardization, licensing, new features and functions.
  • Performs analysis of present systems and operations; documents existing procedures and operating methods; defines requested data requirements, analyzes documentation files and reports; designs improved system and methods of implementation around the application modules.
  • Provides direct oversight of all vendors support and ensures incident resolutions and problems are correctly identified with the proposed final solution consistent with the end users' project requirements
  • Understands business service requests and translates them into clear and actionable application directives.
  • Meets business needs and strategic objectives by managing the activities of Development Programmers and 3rd party vendors consistently delivering quality solutions, on time, within budget and scope of Projects.
  • Partners with internal customers to gather business processes as well as project and development requirements using industry best practices while directing multi-disciplined software teams.
  • Maintains enterprise application architecture with high-level visual schematic of key systems and business flows.
  • Actively drives the development life cycle from requirements analysis, feasibility estimates, design, code, documentation, testing, implementation and support.
  • Supports change management processes to manage software releases, application patching and changes to production configurations.
  • Knowledgeable in underlying Maximo database architecture with regard to all modules schemas/products, standard (API's) application program interfaces, data elements, tables, and views as basis for troubleshooting, data conversion and reporting support.
  • Maintains current knowledge and system functionalities and actively seeks to understand new advances on the horizon.
  • Manages multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments; excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.
  • Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Manage the documentation of existing procedures and operating methods by defining requested data requirements.
  • Analyze documentation files and reports and design improved system and methods of implementation around the application modules.
  • Direct continuous improvement of the application development process enduring consistent delivery on time, within budget and project specifications.
  • Oversee and provide coaching and formal performance management as well as offer feedback and developmental opportunities for team members while keeping current with new and emerging technology related to area of responsibility; participating in continuing education related training to the position.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
