Manager, Information Management
Job Summary
The Manager, Information Management will oversee and coordinate data management, planning, solution design, project execution and implementation of various strategic and operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business strategies, digital transformation innovation and operations. This role will lead data governance, artificial intelligence, quality initiatives and collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the enterprise. The Information Management Director will use problem solving, data profiling and data management techniques to collaborate with business and technology partners on initiatives in support of the overall digital bank strategy.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and manage the daily function of the Information Management department
  • Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's infrastructure.
  • Consult stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of data across the enterprise
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of the data infrastructure.
  • Identify new projects and priorities, ensuring that the team is aligned and focused on delivering outcomes
  • Align data initiatives to overall strategies
  • Provides oversight and direction to his/her team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Coaches, mentors and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Consciously creates a workplace culture that is positive consistent with the organization's goals. Leads employees to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment. Provides effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary. Maintains employee work schedules including paid time off and any requested leave of absence. Maintains transparent communication as appropriate through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email and regular interpersonal communication

Experience Needed:

  • 10+ years’ experience in management information and technology IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects required
  • 10 years progressive leadership experience preferred

  • 5+ experience in progressive bank/financial services strongly preferred
  • Experience managing multiple projects and large initiatives

Education, Licensure & Certification Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, data science, information management or related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Industry IT Certifications are a plus

Skills & Abilities Needed:

  • Strong strategic and tactical knowledge of data management, data governance methodologies, with an emphasis on the disciplines of data quality, master data and metadata management
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with business and technology partners across the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and methodical in approach
  • Ability to develop management level KPIs, metrics and measurements
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at one time while delivering high quality on-time results
  • Continual mastery and commitment to the continuous development of personal performance around the job-specific competencies necessary for this role
  • Specialist in complex technical and business matters
  • Fundamental project management skills, including requirements gathering/analysis and project planning
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s organizational structure, policies, and operational procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical employees.
  • Ability to think and operate both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to lead strategically and execute pragmatically.
  • Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals
  • Demonstrates a proven analytical approach to meeting business needs and solving problems
  • Familiar with various regulations and policies related to the financial industry
  • Experience in leading, assessing and managing a complex, multi-platform systems
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in bridging legacy systems with innovative technology
  • Experience in Transformation & Roadmap development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interactions at all levels across the organization
