Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance inspections on various types of industrial machinery and equipment. This position is for senior mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance with some electrical experience.

Essential Job Functions

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment though a 5S program

· Ability to work independently or in a team

· Willing to stop an activity to investigate issues heard, seen or smelled

· Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs on plastic extrusion manufacturing equipment, cranes, mobile equipment, site utilities and facilities

· Do all planned preventative maintenance and complete the proper checklist as assigned

· Conduct minor electrical repairs such as 110V repair, fuse replacement, PLC controller installation etc.

· Ability to read mechanical drawings and use tools to measure parts to ensure they meet the specifications on the drawings

· Input work orders into the work order system as issues are discovered

· Must be a certified forklift driver

· Must pass an online OSHA basic training course required

· Train Tech I as needed

Other Job Functions

· Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance lead

· Able to work planned and unplanned hours in support of a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Top Tier Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years with Solmax or 8 years in a blown film extrusion maintenance position
  • Obtain certification on welding
  • Emergency Response Team member
  • Safety Team member
  • Must pass a TDG hazardous material handling course or equivalent

Basic Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED

· Minimum 2 - 3 of years production/factory maintenance experience

· Ability to speak, read and write English fluently

· Ability to read and interpret production schedules, instructions, and procedures

· Ability to move around plant and property to work on various assignments

· Ability to operate cranes and roll handling equipment

· Ability to use physical effort to move product

· Ability to follow instructions

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

· Ability to climb to other levels and conduct work on that level

· Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to heat

· Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding and use catwalks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Maintenance in the plastric industry: 5 years (Preferred)
