MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

RWE Holding Company is seeking a material handling facility maintenance technician at our New Castle, PA plants. As Maintenance technician you should be able to performs semi-skilled electrical and mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

As a technician you are responsible for understanding maintenance and repair of all handling and/or plant equipment.

Basic Troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical problems.

Repair on production support items – man lifts, material conveyors, feed systems.

Complete projects working from orders or hand drawn prints.

Will provide assistance to other skilled tradesmen such as Class 1 technicians, carpenters, and electricians.

Follow all safety procedures and lock-out procedures on every machine.

Performs preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.

Keeps and maintains records on all plant machinery and equipment; repairs.

Work any scheduled time necessary to accommodate fluctuations in production volumes.

Adjust machines to ensure quality assurance standards.

Estimate time and parts needed to repair equipment.

Understand material handling needs of the crushing, conveying, and screening equipment, and other processing line equipment.

Be able to and perform maintenance on various pieces of equipment.

Team member must be able to perform work assignments using ladders, scaffolding, manlifts and forklifts; perform other duties as assigned.

Assists outside contractors.

Working knowledge of the plant operations, layout, and overall product processes.

Skills

Must be mechanically inclined.

Must have a minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience.

Must be cooperative and work in a positive manner with other team members.

Possess mechanical and industrial experience in a material handling environment.

Possess basic skills in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical are required.

Must show strong ability to work independently.

Must have the ability to deal with multiple priorities.

Must have the ability to maintain concentration and composure under sometimes

stressful situations.

This position is a direct report to Vice President of Plants

*Qualifications:*

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two year Technical Degree is bonus.

Has some skilled trade experience.

Basic rigging, lifting and slinging a plus.

Technical training in related technical field is a plus.

Strong team work skills.

Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety issues.

Ability to lift and load equipment into vehicle and unload at repair or installation site.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Mechanical skills are helpful.

Comply with all OSHA safety and health regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: Multiple facilities in New Castle, PA.
