Position Summary

• Location: Lafayette, LA
• Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent (90 day observation period)
• Schedule: 7:00am-4:00pm Monday - Friday
• Position Title: Mat Maintenance Technician

Essential Functions:

• Uses hand and power tools to clean, repair, rework, construct, and assemble damaged or scrap matting parts for additional use.
• Pressure wash the 1,000 pound DURA-BASE composite mats
• Repair mats using a variety of tools - saws, grinders, plastic extruder guns, routers, etc.
• Maintains a safe working environment that creates efficiencies for repeated tasks.
• Collects and documents data and information from each part, building and tracking a log of rebuilt assets.
• Works well with others to maintain positive productivity.

Skills:

• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools needed for repairs, including but not limited to: drills, chisels, circular saws, jig saws, routers, grinders, and plastic welding extruders
• Carpentry experience including detailed measuring, cutting, and fitting necessary
• Willingness to travel
• Valid DL
• experienced working in labor intensive, dusty, dirty construction environments
