American Roller Company, an established company and industrial powerhouse has an immediate opening for a Machinist/Welder. Job shop environment, clean and great culture. American Roller Company supplies industrial rollers and roller coverings in over 50 markets. Second shift is 2PM-10PM and receives a 3.5% premium!

Third shift is 1OPM-6AM and receives a 4% shift premium!

What you will do:

Work from blueprints, instructions or specification sheets to fabricate or repair. This position requires a good knowledge of machine practices and machine operation skills.

1. Follow all safety rules.

2. Participate in Lean Manufacturing events to enhance manufacturing procedures along with sustaining 5S/safety throughout campus.

3. Set up, adjust and operate all conventional machinery and grinding equipment to perform diversified operations involved in fabricating tooling and product build and repair services to specific tolerances and finishes.

4. Determine sequence of operations plus set up requirements needed to complete tasks efficiently.

5. Select proper machine feeds and speeds for size and type of material being machined. Determine proper method for securing work piece that is best suited for the order of operations.

6. Verify conformance of work piece to specifications using precision measuring equipment.

7. Study blue prints, sketches, drawings, specifications or sample part to define dimensions / tolerances of finished work piece.

8. Use wire welding equipment when needed to perform repairs and fabrications.

9. Set up and operate balancing equipment to properly balance product per instructions and specifications.

10. Handle and transport work piece to and from work area. Use hoists to lift and position work piece.

11. Keep work area clean and equipment clean. Perform routine lubrication and fluid inspections.

12. Notify the supervisor of any equipment failure or potential failure so repairs can be scheduled.

13. Be able to perform duties with minimum or no supervision.

14. Report accurately in the manner prescribed the information on work performed, time spent, and condition of work before and after operations, and any other required information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: High school or GED and two years technical experience. Good working knowledge of shop math. Demonstrates the ability to continuously learn to advance one’s skills and trade.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.62 - $25.00 per hour
