Line Cook Daily Duties/A Day in the Life:

Evening Shift is scheduled 1:00pm – 9:00pm.

· All line cooks will partake in some prep for daily service. A majority of cooks time will be spent on line cooking.

· Cleanliness is a major requirement. All employees are responsible for keeping their station clean and fully stocked throughout their shift.

· Be able to make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns.

· Be able to operate various kitchen appliances such as a fryer, oven, grill, toaster, waffle iron, robo coupe, steam kettle or stand mixer.

· Portion, arrange, and garnish food based on menu requirements.

· Assist other cooks during the food assembly process.

Qualifications:

· 2 years minimum experience is preferred also willing to train candidates with no experience if they demonstrate a willingness to learn.

· Characteristics we are looking for in applicants: hardworking nature, a great attitude, the ability to work well on a team, eagerness to learn about working in this industry, understanding the importance of putting in the extra effort, and caring about quality of service from start to finish.

· Must be punctual and reliable to scheduled work hours.

Compensation and Perks:

· RATE: We offer an industry competitive pay scale based on experience.

· MEDICAL: Employees are eligible to receive medical benefits after 60 days of full-time employment (must work 30 hours per week every week for two consecutive months). Employer covers 50% of health insurance cost. Please note: Not all positions offered are full-time.

· RETIREMENT: After one year of employment and 1,000 hours worked, all employees are eligible to enroll in our retirement plan. Employer matches up to 4% of employee contributions.

· PAID TIME OFF: Employees earn one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Up to 40 hours can be carried over to following year if unused.

· MEAL DISCOUNTS: BOH kitchen staff receives one complimentary meal per shift, up to an $8 value. All other meals are eligible for a 25% discount at any time.

· OTHER BENEFITS: All employees can bowl at no charge when lanes are available.

About the business:

All Star Lanes & Casino is a 40-lane bowling center with a full-service restaurant and bar, arcade and a mini casino with 10 table games and 4 tables of poker. We employ around 190 people, but try our best to keep the feel of a family-owned and operated company. The company was started in 1985 by Tom Myers Sr. and is now owned by his son, Tom Myers Jr. and his wife, Laurie. Operating the business are their children, Tommy, Tim and Kylie and Laurie’s brother, Jim Monahan. We have all grown up here together, as a family and with our employees. Our management team does an incredible job at withholding the standards we strive for with their own teams and are great people to work for.   • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
