BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Lead superintendent performs as highest-ranking field employee on large, complex projects while overseeing all field responsibilities and personnel either directly or indirectly. Lead superintendent should have extensive management and leadership skills and extensive construction/technical knowledge to navigate issues on assigned project.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Manage a project and site field team from NTP to post construction (warranty)
Mentor all field staff for career advancement
Responsible for superintendent 2 duties when necessary
Be primary point of contact for all field related items if a general superintendent is not assigned to the project
Provide oversight for coordination and/or coordinate between trade partners to eliminate issues with drawings/scopes and conflicts
Run trade partners progress meeting and update minutes on Procore
Actively participate in the monthly job review meetings
Provide oversite of trade partners’ scheduling, quality, safety, and production
Provide leadership and support to all field staff
Manage assigned phases of construction and trade partners associated with those phases when necessary
Coordinate between design team and trade partners to solve problems in the field
Work in conjunction with field team to provide seamless installation of work by trade partners
Ability to manage multiple trade partners' phases of construction simultaneously
Coordinate between trade partners to eliminate issues with drawings/scopes and conflict
Work in conjunction with field and/or project engineer to provide seamless installation of work by trade partners
Always maintain a working set of as-built drawings on site
Expedite the construction of an exterior mock-up as directed to include exterior finishes, trim, roofing, windows, air barrier, flashings, and termination details; this will be done in a cutaway section, so all details can be reviewed and approved by architect and owner
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of jobsite
Manage relationships with clients, design team, trade partners, and inspectors
Maintain organized and clean office/trailer
Accept material deliveries and track on material control log when necessary
Ability to interact and communicate professionally and ethically with all parties associated with the project
Attend required corporate meetings, training programs, and Harkins University seminars/webinars
Perform additional duties as assigned
DOCUMENTATION CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT
Complete daily report and review field teams input to close out daily reports
Assist in development in baseline schedule (or recovery and aggressive schedules)
Knowledgeable with long lead tracker and maintain update when necessary
Work with the project engineer/APM to ensure plans, RFIs, submittals, and documents are in good order
Review and approve trade partner requisitions
Provide assistance with client requisition updates
Knowledgeable with cost accounting systems and company policies and procedures
Oversee the execution of trade partner punch list
Oversee the execution of logs, inspections, and quality control procedures
Oversee the materials control process
Maintain and update baseline schedule (or recovery and aggressive schedules), 90-day schedule and 2- week schedule
Create, modify, and track Change Events
Complete daily log sections as required
SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL
Oversee and manage all QC processes and procedures in the field
Oversee and manage all safety processes, procedures and requirements in the field
Champion job site quality control and safety
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Scheduling – Phoenix 101 and Phoenix 201
OSHA 30
First Aid / CPR / AED
Silica
Hazmat Pictogram Communication
Field safety training (visit four projects)
Preconstruction/Estimating Rotation
Procore for superintendents
CAREER PATH- GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT
Successful completion of various types of projects
Proven ability to complete projects timely and within budget
Proficient with reading, understanding, and interpreting plans, specifications, shop drawings, contracts, and other documents
Time and experience with company
Performance evaluations
Ability to solve problems independently
Ability work as a team player
Continuous learning mindset of construction and the trades
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Cumulative total of at least eight (8) years of progressive experience in construction
Proficient with estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, negotiating, field supervision, and financial reporting as it relates to overseeing the production of various types of projects
Working knowledge of understanding, interpreting, and implementing plans, specifications, and other contract documents
Proficient with solicitation, negotiation, award, and management of subcontracts for various types of projects
Proven ability to create baseline schedules using logic/constraints
Proficient with interpretation of AIA contract documents, and cost plus GMP contracts for various types of projects
Proven ability to lead, coach, and train team members
Demonstrated organizational, leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Project, Phoenix, and Procore with aptitude to learn other construction-related software applications
A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very loud.
