Have you ever wanted to design a 16' tall robot and then see it come to life? Can you envision all of the parts and pieces, how they go together, and what it's going to take to get to the finish line? Then this may be the right position for you! We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Engineering Team with experience in parametric design software used to create Furniture, Cabinetry, Toys, or Packaging. This person would possess the ability to work organically as part of our Engineering Department. We are looking for a creative individual that can think outside the box, visualize things well, and can use their computer talents to create concepts and renderings for our clients in various forms as they design custom props for laser tag arenas, golf courses, e-sports, and escape rooms.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of Solidworks engineers to assign priority and maintain accountability for successfully hitting completion deadlines.
  • Manage the engineering review process to ensure our designs are meeting the quality and build standards.
  • Organize information to ensure the engineering team has all the details relevant to the work they are expected to perform.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for engineering and build processes
  • Use Solidworks to create 3D renderings of props, assemblies, and products.
  • Assist the Design Department in the overall creative scope of projects
  • Occasionally, work with client architects, building inspectors, fire marshals, clients, and more to review designs, make adjustments, and ensure the overall plans meet the needs of all parties

Additional considerations and software knowledge desired for this position:

  • Use of project management software such as Wrike, Katana, Zoho, or Monday to set deadlines and timelines from concept to completion
  • Solidworks engineering and management experience required
  • Experience with a CAM and nesting software to convert complex assemblies and part files into g code to run on our CNC machines
  • Experience and Training in DFMA(Design for Manufacturing) and NPI (New Product Implementation)
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, techniques, and production systems
  • 3D sculpting software knowledge a plus (ie: Art Cam, Carve Co, Mudbox, Zbrush, or Maya)

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar setting leading or managing a team in a design to manufacture position
  • 4-year degree in engineering or related discipline or similar experience
  • Must be able to provide a portfolio of work that shows designs that have been completed

Pay and Benefits:

  • Job Type: Full-Time Salary Exempt
  • Hours: 8AM - 5PM Monday - Friday
