What you'll do...
Lead cooks typically work under chefs and oversee the chain of food preparation work done by line and prep cooks on a day-to-day basis. They prepare soups, salads, and sauces, assist the chef in preparing entrées, and ensure that food health and safety regulations are followed. Lead line cooks have experienced success as a cook and maintains the hands on approach when readying a kitchen for service. This position also cooks and prepares food, assists with menu planning, as well as ordering of food.
What you will bring...
- Strong planning and execution abilities in basic kitchen production.
- Proven ability to evaluate work quantity and influences pace to achieve within allocated time frame.
- Skilled knowledge of cooking techniques in both a la carte and banquet settings, and able to carry out tasks in both planned and troubleshooting scenarios.
- Influences speed and accuracy of the team and has positive impact on cleanliness, organization and overall health of the kitchen.
- Minimum 4 years cooking experience, preferably high volume.
- Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members.
