Qualifications:

• Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility.
• Knowledge of sound safety principles and practices.
• Ability to operate computer systems and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and maintenance management systems.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Experience in a laboratory setting or a STEM educational background.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, and effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes.
• Familiarity with principles of supervision and general maintenance work
• Proficiency in operating plant PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.

Wastewater operator work experience is highly desirable, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily operations, plant rounds, process control testing, and permit control testing.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operations of the wastewater treatment facility.
• Maintain the facility's laboratory and equipment.
• Prepare reports, collect samples, and perform laboratory testing.
• Determine proper chemical flow rates and maintain shift logs.
• Take effective action to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your team.
• Provide solutions to complex challenges that may arise.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: From $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Westerly, RI 02891: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
