Eagleville Hospital, located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is a private non-profit organization dedicated to the treatment, education, and prevention of substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and acute psychiatric disorders. The hospital serves as a regional resource for the treatment and prevention of alcohol and drug abuse, as well as a national resource for training and research for addiction and related conditions. The hospital also houses a geriatric psychiatry unit, which is short-term program for clients aged 55 years and older in need of a secure, therapeutic environment. The hospital also houses a 16-bed acute psychiatric unit.

Summary:

Lab Associate is responsible for obtaining morning, routine and stat labs and EKGs and filling in as a nursing assistant as needed. The individual must have current venipuncture experience with knowledge of quality control logs and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate required
• Should be able to handle occasional heavy lifting
• Extensive walking and standing while performing job duties is required
• Must have good oral and written communication skills

.Physical Requirements

Occasional heavy lifting to assist in moving patients (approx. 100-350 lbs.).

Medium lifting of a minimum of 25-75 lbs. required on a regular basis to assist with transporting items; e.g., patient belongings, supplies and equipment.

Extensive walking and standing while performing duties required; ability to push wheelchair to transport patients on campus; ability to climb at least three flights of stairs; good oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

Work every other weekend and holidays as assigned. Possible exposure to infectious diseases, psychiatric and medical emergencies.
