Job Duties:

As a Key Account Manager, you will be primarily responsible for growing wallet share and/or continuing to build customer lifetime value with key strategic accounts. In addition to growing share, another important focus of this role will be to manage plant profitability by providing solutions to our customers that are mutually benefit able for our business & customer. The incumbent should both build strong relationships and become trusted advisors for our customers & Metrie leadership.

Key Relationships: You will report directly to the Sales Manager – Manufacturing, West. The incumbent is a key individual contributor who will work closely with the Plant Director & Account Representative in our Ferndale, WA plant, as well as interact as needed with the Director of Manufacturing Sales and other cross-functional Metrie resources including Manufacturing stakeholders, to achieve sales and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

At a high level, you will:

  • Work closely with the manufacturing sales team as well as liaison with the Operations team to satisfy customer due dates.
  • Achieve financial and customer targets by driving sales and margin growth and improving the overall relationship with customer accounts.
  • Actively engage relevant stakeholders to generate interest in Metrie products/services, create demand, and help Channel Partners convert and service demand.
  • Create and execute strategies to increase sustainable profitability and drive top and bottom-line growth of accounts.
  • Act as a brand advocate by managing the Metrie brand touchpoints to drive brand value and awareness; leveraging an insight-driven, customer-centric approach (i.e., Challenger Selling) to generate awareness and interest for Metrie products/services among targeted Channel Partners.

Requirements:

  • We would love to hear from you if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in prospecting & lead generation/business development is preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with purchasing agents, senior buyers, and small business owners.
  • Strong skills in quantitative analysis and/or demand forecasting to aid in decision-making.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Business acumen, including strategic pricing.
  • Previous industry experience within building products, interior finishing, construction, architect, interior design, or other related fields is an asset.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools/systems (i.e., Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as required, including international travel.
