Cedar Creek Pet Hospital is looking for a day shift Kennel Technician.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, organized, team player that has a true passion and love for caring for animals.

This position requires morning shifts during the week as well as some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• the overall care of the pet
• monitoring the behavior of dogs while in day care
• feeding, record keeping
• Cleanliness of cages, runs and the cat ward area,
• daily exercising of all pets in the boarding facility as well as the day care pets
• laundry
• medication
• may occasionally assist the medical services staff with inpatient care

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reliable attendance and timeliness are essential.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to observe animal appearance and behavior (training provided).
• Ability to clean and maintain kennels, cages, and runs.
• Perform general cleaning in boarding and day play areas to control the spread of disease.
• Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work with others in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
• Will be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.
• Work occurs at inside and outside venues, so ability to layer up or down and deal with the seasonal weather is imperative. Exposure can be reduced during extreme weather.
• Ability to handle, manage and restrain animals using appropriate procedures (training provided).
• Frequently lift dogs weighing 50 lbs. Walk and handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs.
