Keiter Advisors (KA) is a leading financial advisory firm specializing in consulting and merger and acquisition (M&A) assistance. Over the past 15 years we have established a national reputation for assisting the owners of over 120 companies across 36 states plan and execute their exit strategies - primarily through the sale of their businesses. Our focus has been privately held companies, primarily in the food service distribution and food & beverage sectors. KA is a fully owned subsidiary of Keiter, a 170 person CPA firm based in Richmond, VA.

Our team is seeking a Managing Director with food service distribution or food and beverage experience in mergers and acquisitions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the practice and manage the resources in all aspects of the business.
  • Manage deal execution and direct project management throughout the entirety of the transaction.
  • Be responsible for lead origination and evaluating opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance and develop company valuations.
  • Identify potential areas for synergies and forecast integration savings. Develop the appropriate models.
  • Develop transaction materials including offering documents.
  • Be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and tracking diligence material. Maintain data room.
  • Daily interaction with members of the Keiter Advisors team, Keiter partners, and other management teams to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
  • Communicate complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Work with external clients’ advisors including accountants and attorneys, on negotiation of letters of intent and purchase agreements.
  • Conduct regular marketing activities including email, phone and print campaigns.
  • Attend national industry meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain databases of industry statistics, trends, and competitive activity.
  • Conduct industry, market, and company specific research.
  • Meet with clients throughout the US.

Qualifications:

  • Ten years of experience working in investment banking or with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or similar areas: accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional technology skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates strategic and creative thinking and distinguished communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Strict attention to detail with demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • General understanding of M&A markets, aptitude to learn, and demonstrated history of strong academic performance and professional drive.
  • Strong public speaking skills; comfortable with leading large group conference calls.
  • Experience with transactions in the food service distribution and food or beverage industries.
