Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Job Coach will ensure the delivery of skill building, work experiences, academic support, and positive pro-social recreation. The Coach will work directly with youth, youth's placements, and community partners to develop and implement activities that support a goal of developing workplace skills and gaining employment experiences.

Major areas of responsibility for this job include but are not limited to the following: identifying potential employers with a focus of developing employment opportunities for program participants assists with the coordination of employment related events/activities, provides case management support to assist participants (eliminate barriers that can interfere with job retention), prepares written reports on weekly basis of job development and placement activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enrollment: Develop and nurtures community relationships to recruit youth participants.
  • Engagement: Provide clients with career counseling, employment connections, and training opportunities through a series of different techniques that will keep clients engaged in the program. Develop their "Essential Employability Skills".
  • Outreach Services: Work with youth to skills, hone interests, and offer experiences.
  • Program Services: Create case plan tailored to each client's needs.
  • Recordkeeping/Documentation: Maintain confidential case files and complete all required reports.
  • Meetings: Attend team meetings and individual supervision
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in ongoing quality improvements efforts of the agency
  • HIPPA Compliance: Full access to client information. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times
  • Diversity/Cultural Awareness: Ability to working effectively with diverse communities and constituencies.
  • Other Functions: The Agency may assign other functions to the job at its discretion.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, degree in human services with one year experience working with at-risk youth and experience in workforce development
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
