The Department of Revenue Information Services (IS) division currently has a unique and amazing opportunity for an IT Security - Senior/Specialist in Tumwater, WA. This IS Deployment Engineer will serve as the Department’s designated highest technical expert to carry out new security design and practices, as well as provide incident command for security related events.

Please Note: This position has the flexibility to work remotely part-time, however the duty station is in Tumwater, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for key scheduled meetings or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking considerations will be addressed during the interview process.

Duties

As the IS Deployment Engineer, you'll be challenged to:


  • Represents DOR architectural and cybersecurity needs to state and federal entities through the SDR process.
  • Represent and lead DOR audit, consultation, and review efforts ensuring CAP remediations are incorporated into the architecture and change management workflows.
  • Act as the Incident Response Commander during major incidents or as declared by the agency director and support duty managers with security-related issues as required.
  • Act as the ISD Supply Chain Risk Manager in support of future architecture needs, current hardware and software, and lead security efforts for procurements and End-of-Life (EOL) devices.
  • Assist the IT Security Architect in the development and design of future delivery services and act as an intermediary between architect and maintenance and operations staff ensuring proper training, communication, and expectations are presented to all parties for the successful security operations of the services as designed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of an Information Technology related field

AND

Five (5) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis/security, system maintenance, troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, IT audits, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases with at least 4 of those years with an emphasis in cybersecurity and at least 3 of the following 8 IT Security Domains:

  • Security and Risk Management
  • Asset Security
  • Security Engineering
  • Communications and Network Security
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Security Assessment and Testing
  • Security Operations
  • Software Development Security
AND

Five (5) years of work experience in IT or cybersecurity for a government entity, law enforcement agency, or private organization including analysis of vulnerabilities (including confidential and/or sensitive data) acquired from endpoints, servers, networks, databases, and storage devices/media using tools and processes that meet industry standards and administrative/legal requirements.

AND

A professional security certification, such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Security Plus (SEC+) from a non-vendor specific industry recognized organization such as Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), or the SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security (SANS) institute.
