Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for driving cost avoidance and savings through the optimized use of inventory throughout the field. This role supports the Field Operations department through inventory management project execution in line with business trends, system issues, and employee actions. This role will work cross-functionally to execute policies and processes to increase the efficiency and success of inventory management for the entire Operations team. This role is responsible for tracking and improving inventory related metrics throughout the entire company. This role will provide customer service and support to Field Employees, Field Management team, and Supply Chain Ops team to facilitate company initiatives and cost savings. This role includes working in person with Field Operations and may include some travel needs (approx. 5-35%).

You will work with Field Technicians, Field Leaders, Supply Chain Groups, IT groups and Finance to drive inventory best practices. This is an entry-level position. We need someone who can help us maintain processes and is wanting to develop a career in supply chain.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handle requests from stakeholders related to Inventory tracking and transactions.
  • Review inventory transactions for accuracy and process compliance.
  • Make changes through SAP system and other systems to correct inventory errors and issues.
  • Root cause issues and errors to highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Track system transactions and resolve failed inventory transactions.
  • Maintain and create SOPs related to inventory management.
  • Act as an inventory liaison for all branches of technicians in the field.
  • Utilize reporting on high impact metrics on a regular basis, providing transparency to the field and upper management.
  • Form excellent working relationships with individuals in various departments and communicate effectively and positively.
  • Hold technicians accountable for inventory losses and policy breaches.
  • Advocate for technicians related to inventory control issues and difficulty.
  • Participate in field training meetings, including conducting trainings.
  • Assist in projects with various departments, including HR, Legal, Customer Care, Retention, IT, Supply Chain, Scheduling, Finance, etc. to drive permanent solutions.
  • Assist with summer and retail season launch and season closure.
  • Participate in auditing field inventory for cleanliness and accuracy.
  • Provide coaching and solutions for improvement for Field Management to drive with their team’s based on audit findings.
  • Audit inventory locations across the country for accuracy and good practice.
  • Initiates timely action to achieve results; is trusted to act without supervision.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work well with others and to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Demonstrated ability to use PowerPoint at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to process repetitive requests/actions to resolve individual issues.
  • Capability to learn new software, and to troubleshoot system problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and provide a quick turn around on reported issues.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, and to own and drive initiatives.
  • Ability to respond to issues and concerns daily, while still fulfilling reporting needs and other weekly/monthly job requirements.
  • “Owner’s” attitude, including a willingness to tackle problems through to solutions and an ability to work both independently and across functions.

Education & Experience:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred but not required.
  • 1 years’ experience in business, IC, audit, or technical roles.
  • Preferred experience with the following: inventory management, customer service, analyzing data sets, process improvement, time management and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge with the following programs required: Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge with the following programs preferred: JIRA, Asana, CMS, MTM, Salesforce, Tech Genie, and SAP.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
