Hazen Paper Company in Holyoke, MA is seeking a 2nd shift Ink Mixer to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY

Mix and match inks and solvents for production machines, maintain a clean and organized work area, store materials appropriately and in the correct locations, and maintain accurate inventory on inks and wet goods through auditing/cycle scans

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate Hunter Color Machine and ACS Computer. Read scale accurately.
• Deliver proper material to machines. Properly handle and record returns. Follow all written and oral orders and formula.
• Accurately maintain inventory of inks and solvents. Safely handle and accurately label hazardous materials, both for internal usage and to external vendors.
• Receive and unload incoming materials for department.
• Work with Technical Services to use work off ink.
• Maintain up to date print roll identification and % log.
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Use of formulas, charts, tables, specifications, schedules and detailed instructions.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments and controls. Have knowledge of basic computer concepts.
