POSITION SUMMARY -
The Industrial Hygiene Technician will provide field support for the Industrial Hygiene Program, ensuring Federal, State, Company, and Site requirements regarding exposure to potential physical and chemical hazards to facility personnel.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Industrial Hygiene Technician will:

  • Perform field industrial hygiene evaluations (e.g., heat strain, chemicals)
  • Perform worker exposure assessments for chemical and physical hazards
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Communicate issues and results with employees and management in a professional manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Management.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Computer (PC), phone, and other office equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • All candidates shall have 3+ years’ experience providing industrial hygiene / technician experience, or 5+ years experience troubleshooting or repairing mechanical equipment or electronics.
  • Candidate shall have operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. May be required to drive government vehicles.
  • Will be required to pass testing for Radiological Worker II and maintain IH equipment qualifications.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • The work entails the performance of physical activities including walking, standing, bending, stooping, very heavy lifting and carrying possibly heavy objects. The work will entail the individual to be able to concentrate and pay attention for long periods of time. The work will contain you in a stationary position for long periods of times; however, must have the ability to walk down systems in the field. This environment is indoors of the office. This is a fast pace moving environment and must be able to, collaborates well with others and proactively contributes to group objectives.

WORKING HOURS

  • The 40-hour workweek schedule will be determined by the assigned facility to accommodate the current demand of work evolutions and shift rotations. Candidate may be assigned to various shift schedules

  • Aiken, SC

TRAVEL

  • Individual at times will be required to travel off Site

ANTICIPATED START DATE FOR ASSIGNMENT

  • ASAP

DURATION OF ASSIGNMNET

  • Six months six (6) months with the option to extend for one (1) three-month period

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sponsorship will not be a part of this contract
  • Must successfully complete a successful background
  • Must pass SRS drug and alcohol screening and have had no previous record of drug or alcohol-related convictions.
