The Woodfords Family Services team is growing and we're seeking a qualified candidate to join the In-Home Supports Program as a Field Supervisor at our Manchester, ME location! This is a full-time, fully benefitted position!

Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization that's been committed to the support and inclusion of people with special needs and their families in Maine communities for over 55 years! Today, the organization provides an array of clinical, behavioral health and educational programs to more than 2,000 children, youth and adults living with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses across the state of Maine.


Position Summary

As a field supervisor at Woodfords, you will serve as a crucial member of our Family Supports Services team, ensuring that children and their families are receiving the necessary services they need to lead independent and fulfilling lives within their home and community settings. This position reports to our office in Manchester and will require frequent travel in and around Central Maine. A Bachelors degree in human services or related field and at least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.


Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in a human services or social services field and at least one year related supervisory experience.
  • Must possess a valid State of Maine driver's license, have an acceptable driving record, have use of a reliable vehicle, and be willing to travel over multiple counties.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills in writing, speaking and listening.
  • Must have knowledge of typical and atypical child development, developmental disabilities and delays, and the development and functioning of family systems.
  • Ability to interact, develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, families, in-home support staff and other service providers.
  • Must possess the ability to interact safely with individuals who are sometimes not able to care for themselves.
  • Possess the ability to plan, organize, establish priorities, schedule workloads and respond effectively and appropriately to crisis situations.
  • Must be an American citizen or maintain legal alien status.
  • Computer Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access programming, and knowledge of data entry, word-processing, spreadsheet, maintaining database and mail merge. Must have knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation usage; modern office methods, procedures and equipment use; filing, business letter and report writing techniques.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that could include evenings or weekends.


Essential Duties:

  • Comply with all rules and policies in regard to safety. Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures as outlined in the Woodfords Family Services Employee Handbook, the In-Home Support Procedures Manual and the Safety Manual.
  • Conduct self in a consumer-friendly manner at all times. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality consistent with the protection of children and adult human rights.
  • Complete all reports and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Conduct on-site observation of all assigned direct staff a minimum of at least once per month. Amount of meeting time will meet all requirements as outlined in the Section 28 regulations.
  • Meet a minimum of twice monthly with each staff (once for face-to-face observation)- time or casual assigned direct care staff. Each assigned full-time staff must be supervised a minimum of four hours per month.
  • Meet a minimum of one per month with each parent(s)/consumer in assigned caseload.
  • Meet twice per month with Assistant Director of Family Support Services for supervision, and attend bi-weekly staff meetings or group work sessions.
  • Complete all Woodfords Family Services and/or DHHS required training as scheduled. Keep all certifications current.
  • Attend bi-annual agency staff meetings, and other meetings, as required.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee delivery of services for a caseload of at least 905 billable hours per month.
  • Supervise all staff assigned to caseload through monthly face-to-face supervisory and observation meetings.
  • Meet at least once per month face-to-face with each parent/guardian of assigned consumers to monitor satisfaction of service delivery.
  • As part of a treatment team, review and update quarterly goals and objectives and annual service plans. Submit quarterly and annual plans to Assistant Director for review in a manner which allows for submission to DHHS ten (10) business days prior to the due date.
  • Oversee implementation of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives that allow consumer independent growth in areas of daily living skills, social interaction, communication, behavior skills and safety skills.
  • Maintain all consumer records (electronic) documentation, schedules and log sheets to ascertain compliance with recommended practice and DHHS, Program and MaineCare requirements.
  • Make sure that all direct care staff are kept up-to-date on changes to policies, procedures and/or paperwork requirements. Provide necessary paperwork to direct staff as needed or requested.
  • Actively support Woodfords Family Services fundraising endeavors.
  • Seek professional growth through reading, attending workshops, seminars, conferences and/or advanced course work.
