Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the frontline manufacturing operations of the Thousand Oaks site with particular emphasis on developing and implementing initiatives to improve Quality, OTD, GOGS reduction, process efficiency, and overall throughput. Utilize lean concepts such as: Standard Work, Daily Management, VSM, IMAG, 5S, Kanban, SMED, DMP, VRK, PSI and other tools to create and maintain a mindset of continuous improvement. Provide general leadership and motivation for employees, including the assessment of staff development needs and the provision of appropriate training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Manage day-to-day activities of production, clean room and tooling.
• Ensure the ongoing development of processes to improve Quality, OTD, and COGS by reducing cost, increase throughput, and productivity.
• Provide leadership in the implementation of process improvements, investigations, resolutions, and implementation of preventive/corrective actions.
• Ensure that machine maintenance (in the manufacturing area) is performed regularly and is documented. Develop and drive strategy for Site OEE and EHS compliance improvements.
• Stay abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and their application to new and existing process requirements.
• Ensure that the manufacturing areas are clean, safe, and reflect a pleasant environment.
• Promote teamwork and open communications with all employees.
• Effectively interface with all departments, specifically to include Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Develop Talent by defining effective P4G’s and D4G’s goals. Monitor individual performance focusing on continuous improvement, with an emphasis on quality.
• Guide subordinates in routine matters and in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment failures.
• Promote training, mentoring, and skills development to ensure subordinate personnel are competent and qualified to perform duties.
• Display and promote high standards of professional courtesy, honesty, and forthrightness in all relationships.
• Supervisory responsibilities include the direct supervision of production, clean room, tooling and EHS/Maintenance. Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training; planning; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing compliance and solving problems.
• Work within the company’s corporate quality system and EHS/ISO/FDA regulations to remain compliant.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations, Logistics, Engineering or related field; MBA highly desirable.
• 5 to 7 years’ experience leading manufacturing operations (Medical Device or Aerospace)
• 3 years’ experience working with lean concepts; Lean Six-Sigma certified is a plus
