Position: HR Generalist

Company: Innovate! Inc.

Location: This position is remote, and being local to Alexandria, VA is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

The HR Generalist will serve as the primary administrator for several critical human resources functions and workforce management, including onboarding, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and will be able to communicate and facilitate organizational policies and programs while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Internal HR Support and Partnership:
  • Providing internal support and partnership to business lines to deliver required human resources.
  • Coordinating with HR support staff to process and maintain employment, attendance, and other records.
  • Managing the work of other employees supporting the HR Department as needed.
  • Performance Management:
  • Conducting annual performance and mid-year reviews and providing training to managers.
  • Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with company policy.
  • Orientation and Training:
  • Conducting or acquiring background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to new hire orientations; compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; employee recognition programs; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Conduct screening interviews and administer the hiring process.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Compliance and Certification:
  • Ensuring company compliance for all small business or minority, woman-owned company certifications and working with state agencies to apply or renew vital business certifications.
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Familiarity with the HR issues of operating a remote business in over 20 states is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Education and Accreditation:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Organizational Development, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, HRCI-PHR, or another similar accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 2-4 years of related experience.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Salesforce and ADP.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
