HPI is looking for an experienced Human Resource Generalist who will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department.

Hospital experience strongly preferred!

Position Summary:

Handles multiple priorities within appropriate task deadlines. Provides coverage for and acts on behalf of management and is able to make decisions as necessary. Maintains confidentiality of personnel information. Interacts with staff at all locations and works closely with the managers/directors on all HR business. Assists and supports the management team as needed. Always works as a team member with all facilities. Performs duties in accordance with hospital mission, values, and behavioral standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all areas of human resources.
  • Administers leave for hospital entities to include FMLA, PLOA and WC in accordance with policy and applicable laws and is coverage as needed for other entities as needed.
  • Manages Worker’s Compensation program for facilities.
  • Prepares and submits OSHA 300 information annually.
  • Serves as a back up to the HR Generalist/Recruiter and HR Assistant during the pre and post-employment hiring process.
  • Processes and reviews base compensation changes, status changes, transfers and other changes in HRIS system and ensures proper authorization/documentation is received.
  • Processes termination paperwork in HRIS system and notifies appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Assists COO with employee personnel files during annual DNV audit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of human resource experience, preferably 3-5.
  • Experience working in a hospital/healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with UKG Workforce Ready HR, ACA and TLM preferred.
