About the role
Our Norwich, NY location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and one of our specialty sites that creates proteins, lactose, coatings, and flavors. The location lies within Chenango County and is advantageously located within a 50-mile radius of the major cities of Binghamton, Syracuse, Utica, Cooperstown and Oneonta.
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will provide full time Safety and environmental health support to operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with Federal, State, Local and Kerry regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with the Safety Action Plan (SAP).
  • Collaborating with management, production employees and others to ensure compliance with related regulations, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Facilitating training to employees to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, increase safety proficiency and promote safety consciousness.
  • Inspecting safety supplies to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitating plant safety committee meetings, SAP and EMP meetings.
  • Facilitating all incident investigations, insurance inspections, OSHA investigations, and inspections and associated RCA-CAPA investigations.
  • Facilitate the inspection of the facility to detect existing or potential accident or health hazards and recommend corrective/preventative measures.
  • Maintaining all environmental/safety-related records required by corporate, regulatory, or other entities.
  • Ensuring compliance with Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  • Collaborating with Maintenance Department to maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance Program.
  • Completing required environmental reporting including TRI, Title V, DMR and more.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related field.
  • 3+ years of health, safety and environmental experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with NFPA and ANSI and systems such as ISO14001.
  • NYS Grade 2A Waste Treatment Certification is preferred.
  • Change and Business performance management.
  • Broad manufacturing understanding and knowledge.
  • Budget management and control.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Visionary and strategic management skills.
  • Travel up to 10%
