Glen Ellyn Storage Corporation, Agent for Mayflower Transit Van Lines, is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to join its growing location in Carol Stream, IL. The Claims Manager is responsible for investigating, evaluating and adjusting household good claims for loss and/or damaged cargo & property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Review, perform thorough investigation and settle household good claims for all branches within the GESC companies.

· Evaluate claims for reasonableness, necessary action, liability and compliance with State and Federal regulations, operating tariffs, contract provisions, claims policies and standard claim practices and procedures.

· Demonstrate decision making authority and take initiative to consider settlement options outside of the standard claims settlement guidelines.

· Perform extensive communication with customers, van operators & crew members, insurance companies along with other agents & van line personnel.

· Develop an ongoing relationship with repair firms ensuring their resources remain available to the Company in aiding the settlement process.

· Registration of all HHG claims into the Company’s claim database along with the van line’s proprietary system.

· Provide clear and constant communication with the shipper regarding the status and findings of their submitted claim.

· Continually monitor claims that have been assessed and applied to the Company thru settlement by the van line and insurance carrier, ensuring accurate settlement and correct liability assessment to the agent and van operator.

· Contest any inaccurate settlements with the van line, insurance carrier and/or other Agents.

· Work closely with the Quality Manager on claims prevention, communication and retraining, as needed.

This position is onsite (not remote) Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is an exempt salaried full time position with benefits beginning after the first 90 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
