PURPOSE OF HOME HEALTH AIDE:

Performs under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist, various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of a patient in the patient's home.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF HOME HEALTH AIDE:

-Provide direct personal care, therapeutic exercise program, meal preparation, laundry and other light housekeeping for the patient in the patient's home.

-Maintain proper patient documentation and completes same in a timely manner according to policy.

-Collaboration with other team members in order to enhance patient safety and provide excellence in care.

-Demonstrates fiscal responsibility through management of assignments.

QUALFICATIONS FOR HOME HEALTH AIDE:

Education: High School graduation or equivalency preferred. Completion of a training program for a Home Health Aide or Nurse's Aide is essential. 90 % proficiency in skills assessment within 30 days.

Experience: Prior experience in a hospital, nursing home or as a Home Health Aide is desirable.

License Certification & Registration: Certified in BLS-CPR. CNA preferred.
Current drivers' license and automobile insurance must be current at all times to maintain VN/HC employment.

-Good physical and mental health, maturity and stability

-Intellectual capacity to understand verbal and written instructions

-Ability to relate comfortably to ill persons and persons of all ages

-Ability to function independently in the home setting and to accept a variety of religious beliefs and cultural lifestyles

-Ability to cope with unexpected patient/family crises

-Ability to drive a car in inclement weather.

-Automobile in good working conditioN

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
