Production Welder

We are seeking a Production Welder to become an integral part of our team! You will perform acceptable welds according to industry and customer specifications as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. These roles are temp-to-hire opportunities!!

Responsibilities:

• Utilize simple fabrication hand tools and measuring devices.
• Responsible for daily maintenance of welding equipment as well as keeping respective work area clean.
• Adherence to process work instructions, PQR/WPS and other verbal and visual instructions.
• Knowledge of qualifications in process and ability to perform acceptable welds in flat, horizontal and vertical weld positions using GMAW, FCAW and/or SAW welding processes.
• Ability to use carbon-arc gouging (air-arc) equipment, hand-grinding/profiling equipment and fixture/tooling aides.
• Monitor, adjust and inspect weld quality in order to meed standards, expectations and requirements.
• Confer with Production Support staff and Weld Engineering to resolve weld-related issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently from customer and/or company drawings and requirements to produce acceptable welds.
• Ability to physically lift 60 lbs and pass an eye test (Jaeger 12) with or without glasses.

Ability to stand with some sitting and walking, substantial reaching overhead, and bending

• Must adhere to and follow shop rules and safety regulations.
• Participate in mandatory training and testing while playing a key role in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities for Machinist

• Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
• Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
• Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
• Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
• Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Qualifications for Machinist

• Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred
• Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material
• Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Harvey, IL 60426: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
