Health Assistant
Head Start and State Pre-K- Southern Region
Full-Time, Part-Year
General Responsibility: This position will be responsible for collecting, inputting and organizing data within Head Start’s client data tracking system (ChildPlus) and hard copy files.
Specific Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the health coordinator, the health assistant will work collaboratively with Head Start direct service staff, families and healthcare provider agencies to: identify missing required health information, obtaining parent signatures for releases of information as needed, tracking releases of information for renewal purposes, acquiring health documentation utilizing releases of information, entering data as well as scanning and attaching documents into ChildPlus data tracking system, and disseminating hard copies of documentation to client files. Additional support duties to include maintaining adequate levels of inventory for on-site healthcare supplies and general administrative assistance tasks such as site coverage responsibilities, telephone calls, attending meetings as requested and recording meeting minutes, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High School Graduate or GED required. Must have exemplary computer skills, willingness and ability to learn ChildPlus data tracking system, experience in general data entry and office support tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Must be detail oriented, able to follow directions and work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of individuals to meet deadlines. Must have driver’s license, valid car insurance, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel throughout the state.
