Job Description - Head of Creative

Founded in 2014, Bloom is one of the largest family-owned, vertically integrated cannabis companies in the country. We handle all aspects of our cannabis operations in-house – from new market evaluation and entry to facilities build-out, compliance, and marketing.

Currently licensed in five states to grow, manufacture and/or dispense medical marijuana products, we’re expanding rapidly as we continue to earn new state licenses.

We are currently seeking a Head of Creative who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of Adobe Suite and the design process - from concept to final deliverable.

Collaborating with multiple teams at our company, the Head of Creative should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.

Responsibilities:

The Head of Creative will need to collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients for a wide range of marketing materials that may include:

  • Logo creation and brand execution
  • Apparel design
  • Visual design for web assets
  • Product packaging design
  • Presentations
  • Programming collateral
  • Signage
  • Newsletters
  • Marketing materials

Responsibilities will also include managing design assets, pacing orders with vendors, and following up to ensure timely delivery to remote operations facilities.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Work on a wide range of projects and media
  • Visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
  • Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations
  • Express ideas accurately and represent the company or client appropriately
  • Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with marketing team, meeting deadlines and budget constraints
  • Schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, or similar discipline
  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  • 5+ years of experience (academic and professional) working with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, with a strong portfolio of work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to develop concepts and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout
  • Desire to continue to grow skill set through ongoing education and training

Additional Qualifications Considered:

  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • General and interior design knowledge a plus
