PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Review assigned area for safety hazards and assure employees wear required protective safety equipment and work in a safe manner. Train employees in performing work duties and maintain current employee records on the training matrix. Provide feedback on employee performance to department Supervisor. Assist in diagnosing and resolving production problems in assigned area. Monitor for correct parts usage and observation of key quality characteristics. Assure model compliance to the schedule, with accurate components as established on the indented material list. Coordinate completion of conversion units. Report production and follow-up as needed to assure completion of repair and/or unfinished units. Diagnose malfunctions in sub-assemblies or components by performing a variety of tests and/or inspections. May assist unit test/repair in diagnosing and testing finished units.

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret bills and prints. Ability to use pneumatic tools safely and correctly. Working knowledge of electrical and/or refrigerant systems. Line experience in multiple areas. Demonstrated quality background. Mechanical skills for test and repairs, e.g., heat system, fans, blowers, etc. Brazer training and certification required. Knowledge of electrical test equipment: Hi-pot probe, multimeter, amp-probe, amp-meter, auto-test and associated probes/sensors, flame probe, charge equipment, pressure gauges, HLD. Basic understanding of electrical principles, e.g. function of relays, capacitors, switches, voltage, current, etc. Knowledge of schematics; ability to read electrical diagrams. Ability to visually check units for fit, leak, rotation and vibration. Brazing skills necessary in the repair of refrigerant systems.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects/equipment up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects/equipment up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects/equipment up to 10 pounds. Employee must be able to bend a non-specific number of times per hour. Employee must be able to twist body from side to side to position and align equipment on conveyor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical part; automated equipment, airborne particles; risk of electrical shock, and moving fork trucks. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, it is mandatory that all employee use hearing protection as they enter the plant.

Maintain and use as required all personal protective equipment (PPE)and other safety equipment provided. Follow environmentally sound practices to help reduce pollution and conserve natural resources.
