Job Location: Covington, Ga. – Residential Substance Detoxification program

Shift: Full-Time 40 hours

Job Hours: Mon – Fri (9AM to 530PM or 10AM to 630PM); Occasional Saturdays or Sundays; Flexible to cover evenings/ weekends on a rotating basis; this facility requires alternating holiday coverage between all staff

The location for this position is: Covington, GA (Newton County)

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens

Program Specific - Food Service Responsibilities & Duties

Manages and oversees Kitchen Functioning and Food Service operations in a 24-hour-per-day setting. Plans, prepares, and serves meals according to daily menus and/or client dietary and mealtime safety needs

  • Plans meals that conform to standards for healthy diets
  • Adjust for individual client dietary restrictions as needed
  • Inspects food and beverages during preparation and service to ensure quality, quantity, and compliance with established guidelines of proper temperatures for hot and cold foods
  • Follows safe food handling procedures to ensure the health and safety of consumers
  • Performs equipment maintenance needs
  • Ensures strict observance of all safety precautions
  • Maintains food service operation in compliance with the public health standards required for issuance of a food service permit
  • All applicants must be capable of implementing all of the physical behavior management/ manual techniques (such as CPI) for employment
  • Plans, prepare meals and snacks based upon the nutritional/dietary requirements or restrictions of identified clients.
  • Preparation and serving of food/ beverages are implemented ensuring compliance with established guidelines of proper temperatures for hot and cold foods.
  • Leads kitchen and food service operation in compliance with the public health standards required for issuance of a food service permit with strict observation of all safety precautions.
  • Serves food with a visually appealing presentation for all meals/snacks
  • Interacts professionally with the clients while servicing meals/snacks in a courteous and pleasant manner
  • Interacts professionally and politely with other staff following the standards of staff conduct.
  • Ensures proper receipt, storage of food and related items as well as completion of required records and reports.
  • Performs cleaning of all kitchen equipment and kitchen area after each use and before leaving
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner clean up

  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners utilizing the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
  • Must be willing to perform Infectious Disease (including COVID) Standard Cleaning Procedures

Program Specific - Residential Care Provider Supplemental Responsibilities & Duties

Oversee the care and maintenance of the Facility:

  • Monitors general client activity to observe and report behavior/progress of adult clients
  • Maintains awareness of client behavior and physical whereabouts to ensure their safety during dining, showering, or other activities
  • Observes and becomes familiar with each client’s behavior and diagnosis
  • Monitors clients for detection of any behavior which could be injurious to self or others, or which is so unusual or atypical that immediate attention of professional staff is warranted
  • When necessary for the physical safety of the client, uses the least restrictive, agency-approved behavioral or physical intervention technique appropriate for the situation
  • Secures assistance from and/or helps other staff in handling acute behavioral crisis situations
  • Assists with admissions to include searching all clients to ensure no harmful items are brought into Detox unit
  • Maintains the residence and building in a clean and organized condition to assure a safe, secure, and attractive environment for residents and staff. This may include removal of trash or debris from living/ recreational areas, cleanup after meals, wiping surfaces, etc.
  • Assists with discharge of clients to ensure all items are collected and given to the client at discharge
  • Provides support to each resident in maintaining his/her personal living space in a clean and orderly manner

Other Duties

  • Support Facilities Supervisor in facilitating drills, inventories, maintenance requests, monitoring supplies, ordering, etc. as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED AND Six months of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SafeServ Certification
