Job description
- Manages hourly staff in the Food Service Department
- Oversees the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account
- Interviews hires, and trains staff; plans, and assigns
- and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines staff; addresses complaints and resolves problems
- Prepares and manages the annual budget
- Completes required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/timekeeping, etc.
- Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items to state standards for preparation, presentation, sanitation, and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control
- Prepares menus, correspondence, and materials to be distributed to students and families
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma (or GED) and a minimum of three years of relevant school nutrition experience
- School Nutrition Association (SNA) Level 3 Certification or at least one year of relevant school nutrition experience
- Valid MN Driver’s License
- Position functions in a workplace that has a high level of noise times.
- Position works in a busy kitchen condition with very warm temperatures at times.

Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools is seeking to hire a Food Service Director for our District. This position is directly responsible for the successful operation of our district food service account. The director ensures client and customer service/satisfaction with efficient, cost-effective management that meets and exceeds stated expectations. They are responsible for all food service-related activities, including (retail, cafeteria, catering, etc), quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and all client-related activities.
