William George Company is a broad line wholesale food service distributor that services East Texas, Western Louisiana, Southeastern Arkansas, and Southwestern Oklahoma. To help better meet the needs of our customers, we are seeking to add a full-time Food Sales Consultant, who is bilingual, to service the areas in and around Lufkin / Nacogdoches, with the option to assist in other sales territories. This is a commissioned sales position with monthly car allowance. The pay range for the position listed is an estimate. The pay will be dependent upon the amount of sales generated by the person selected.

This position is responsible for selling all products offered by the company, including food and non-food items. Each food service consultant is responsible for organizing and supervising his or her own daily activities and scheduling, with oversight by the sales manager. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work from home on Sunday to process orders for Monday delivery
  • Develop and maintain a base of accounts
  • Responsible for acquiring and developing new accounts and increasing sales volume in established accounts
  • Achieve monthly sales and gross profit goals
  • Manage business relationships with customers by physically visiting all customers with frequency agreeable to the account
  • Identify and resolve all customer issues in a timely manner
  • Key and transmit customer orders proficiently and without error via laptop
  • Represent products offered to customers that assist in achieving the business goals of the food service operator
  • Keep up to date on discontinued items, sales, and product promotions
  • Promote new products to applicable customers
  • Address all pricing issues, concerns, and opportunities
  • Use pricing philosophies and strategies that are profitable for the company and meet the customer’s goals of food costing
  • Manage and collect all account receivables within the credit terms set forth by the company
  • Stay on top of all outstanding invoices
  • Work with all departments within the company to achieve goals
  • Organize and route your territory stops to maximize delivery service and efficiency to customers
  • Cooperate with the distribution supervisor and other sales consultants to address and resolve any and all delivery issues
  • Stay abreast of up-to-date industry trends and new ideas to better serve the customer
  • Work with brokers whenever available to sample products and promote your product knowledge and expertise
  • Attend ALL company sponsored sales meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

If you

  • Are fluent in Spanish,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
  • Have reliable transportation,
  • Are detail oriented and motivated,
  • Are a competitive, self-starter with a positive attitude and,
  • Are personable with great people skills,

The following are preferred but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Outside food sales experience
  • 3-5 years outside commissioned sales experience

This is a commissioned sales position with monthly car allowance. The pay range for the position listed is an estimate. The pay will be dependent upon the amount of sales generated by the person selected. A salary guarantee will be offered for the position for up to 6 months.
