Job description

If you have experience with using machinery to cut and prepare parts for production and the desire to improve your skills, this is the opportunity for you. The Folder Operator is responsible for operating machines (brake, saw, laser, and other machines as assigned) to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, and notch, bend, straighten, or perform any other fabrication operation required to prepare parts for the fabrication department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying prints, preparing machinery setup, and gathering parts and materials.
  • Produce parts to print specifications and monitor the machine during the cutting process.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Offload finished parts using an overhead crane, sheet loader, and laser conveyors.
  • Resolves problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notifying the Production Supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Assists fabrication with shear, break press, saw, and iron.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish each job task.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements:

  • Metal Fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints/shop fabrication drawings.
  • Comfortable working with large-size components.
  • Experience operating overhead crane equipment.
  • Forklift experience.

You'll also need to be able to:

  • Lift up to 49 pounds
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)

Requirements: Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.75 - $17.75 per hour
