EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma required
• Basic computer skills including comfortable working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Google applications
• Ability to work independently when manager is not present
• Organizational skills and the ability to shift tasks responding to multiple requests
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (provided by Barrington Park District when classes are available)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Welcome members as they enter the fitness center, check them in for classes
• Provide membership information for new patrons and complete the registration process
• Answer the phone and respond to caller’s questions. Direct calls to other departments when appropriate.
• Conduct equipment orientation for new participants
• Complete the assigned equipment checks and cleaning procedures and schedule daily
• Maintain a neat and orderly facility with a continuous focus on safety
• Maintain the necessary forms and manuals, including training schedules, updating participant rosters and entering daily class counts
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Health & Fitness Manager

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent standing, squatting, bending, sitting, walking, reaching and kneeling
• Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

HOURS:

• Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 4:30 am–9:00 am OR
• Wednesday/Thursday 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm PLUS
• A rotating weekend shift: Saturday 6:30am–12:00 pm, OR 12:00 pm–4:00pm OR Sunday 6:30 am–12:00 pm

PAY RATE: Starts at $14.00 per hour, increases based on experience. Full fitness membership is included.
