The Lutheran Home at Topton, A Diakon Senior Living Community- A picturesque senior living campus in northeastern Berks County, The Lutheran Home at Topton has existed since 1896. The Lutheran Home at Topton is seeking skilled and caring individuals to be part of Diakon’s Many Hands One Heart team. General Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing health and wellness programming designed to promote the principles of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Assisting with presentation of daily activities and special events.
  • Participates in planning health and wellness related programming as well as other activities programming at all levels of care within the community.
  • Leads and conducts activities that are designed to improve overall health and well being of participating individuals.
Education/Training: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent verbal and numerical skills to read, write, and orally communicate with associate workers and residents with English as the essential language and understands job related information; Certification by a nationally recognized organization in one or more areas of health and fitness programming (i.e., personal trainer, aquatics instructor, primary group exercise instructor, etc.).
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related fitness/wellness positions normally required. Prior experience in an interdisciplinary setting and creative programming or geriatrics preferred.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
