SCOPE OF POSITION
The Financial Analyst II is expected to promote sound, operations and financial decision making within their assigned areas. This individual will work closely with other strategically related areas including but not limited to Quality, Accounting, Managed Care, Patient Resource Management, Information Systems, and Reimbursement. In addition, the Financial Analyst II will assist assigned areas with profitability analysis for programs and procedures. This individual will work with department, service line, and facility leaders to develop and interpret budgets and budget variances, and to develop action plans to correct variances. The Analyst will assist assigned departments in gathering data for strategic requests and determining return on investments. The Analyst will develop and maintain productivity benchmarks and cost accounting standards for assigned area. This individual will develop knowledge of information available through multiple databases and assists as necessary in submission of data for external benchmark resources.
The Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the monthly financials for their assigned areas including preparing journal entries, as well as to work with Controllers/CFOs in month end process to resolve any questions related to their areas. The Analyst will ensure accurate procedure and revenue coding for CDMS of assigned departments. Performs yearly review of CMS and other governmental entities changes and updates as needed. Additionally, the Analyst will work with department leaders in developing operating and capital budgets and provide education as needed to assigned departments on budget tools and concepts. The Analyst will participate in completion of survey information for state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. In addition, the Analyst will update Five-Year capital plan and Five-Year operating plan as assigned. This individual will assist AVP, Managers, and senior team members within department on various projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or closely related field is required, Master's degree preferred. Three (3) to Five (5) years of work experience in finance or similar field, preferably in healthcare setting, required

Valid and active HFMA, CPA, CMA, or similar healthcare certification preferred.
