Overview:
FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (F3015-2023-18681 Z):

Bowhead is seeking a Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide support of Maintenance and Operational Training on the USMC Medium and Light Tactical Vehicle Platforms contract at Camp Lejeune, NC. The FSR's assist Master Operational Instructors on training instruction and will be required to evaluate operators and equipment. These FSR’s are considered Maintainers and will be required to support all vehicle systems which can include: communication, engine repair, automatic transmission, manual transmission, suspensions, brakes, electronic systems, heating and air, and ancillary system and subsystems.
Responsibilities:
Essential functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Identifying and replacing components as well as conducting functional tests to return articles to service;
  • Documenting maintenance and inspection actions;
  • Reviewing technical documentation to identify planned maintenance action requirements;
  • Reviewing and implementing service advisory/service bulletins;
  • Providing analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, and maintenance for equipment.

These positions will require travel and deployment CONUS and OCONUS up to 50% of the time and qualified candidates must have a valid state issued Driver's license and a US Passport with at least 6 months of validity at time of hire.

Interested candidates must also be available for a flexible work schedule, including extended or weekend hours, sometimes on short notice, to include holidays as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent in addition to a minimum of three (3+) years of experience in integration, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance efforts for Military wheeled vehicles is required at a minimum. Candidates with an Associate's Degree (or higher) must have at least one (1+) year of the same experience
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Medical Exam which includes the ability to lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; climbing into confined spaces within tactical vehicles; manipulating and handling objects needed for installation: reaching, grasping, twisting, turning and manipulating equipment and tools within confined spaces, as well as walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods of time is also required
  • Must possess a valid state issued Driver's license and US Passport with 6 months validity
  • Candidates with any Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), American Welding Society (AWS) and/or military coating application (MIL-DTL-53072) certificates are highly sought
  • Prior experience with JLTV operation and training and/or the Marine Corp Systems Command is desired
  • Prior relevant experience to provide classroom and physical practical exercise instruction for Operator New Equipment Training (NET) for LTV platforms
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card)
  • Knowledge of military wheeled vehicle maintenance processes, licensing, policies, culture, operation, and training
  • Ability to meet all OCONUS location-specific requirements as outlined by DoD 4500.54-G, Foreign Clearance Guide
  • Available for up to 6-month deployment supporting Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU)
  • Ability to perform all duties while scrupulously adhering to all prescribed safety protocols
  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and processes related to electrical and mechanical components
  • Ability to use various hand, power-driven, and specialty tools to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, and labels
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, handbooks, sketches, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings as well as annotate and modify documentation into databases
  • Ability to perform quality repairs in a timely manner while also maintaining serialized parts inventory which will include warranty tracking to ensure retention for potential return
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level, however candidates who currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level are highly sought. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at these locations.
