POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Fast Food Worker

REPORTS TO: Management

CLASSIFICATION: Non Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Efficiently and effectively prepares and serve food to customers within a fast food facility; including customer transactions, cleaning and stocking working area, while exhibiting a friendly, enthusiastic attitude.

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform job assignments as directed by management
  • Maintaining the M. R. Whitsett, Inc.’s operational quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Greets customers and takes food orders; provides information about menu items.
  • Prepares and presents quality products at all times and maintains clean and sanitized equipment and work station including mopping, sweeping, and trash removal.
  • Maintains adequately stocked workstations; restocking stations as needed.
  • Comply with all M. R. Whitsett, Inc. policies and procedures and Southern Nevada Health Department Regulations.
  • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including wrapping, labeling, dating, and stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products.
  • Operates cash register and receives payment from customer in cash or credit card
  • Accurately counts and provides change to customers according to the M. R. Whitsett, Inc.’s Cash Handling Policies and Procedures.
  • Projects a professional appearance and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
  • Assists with a variety of kitchen-related functions as needed.
  • Receives inventory, moves and lifts food and beverage products and supplies;
  • Attends special meetings and training as scheduled by the Operations Manager.
  • Follows all security and safety procedures established and governed by OSHA and M. R. Whitsett, Inc.
  • Follow reasonable directives as deemed fit by Management.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 2 years experience in Fast Food industry.
  • MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions).
  • Able to visually see during all activities.
  • Able to hear, speak, read and comprehend instructions short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers, coworkers, management and others you come in contact with.
  • Able to compute basic Arithmetic.
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment.
  • Skill in operating equipment related to fast food industry.
  • Knowledge of product and services available in unit.
  • Knowledge of Southern Nevada Health District Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Hazard Organization Regulations.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Physical Requirements to perform Essential Job Functions)
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking or standing 100% of the time, including movement on slick and/or narrow surfaces
  • Frequently operate registers and/or calculators.
  • Consistently handle product preparation.
  • Frequently lift and/or reach for product preparation, stocking and inventory.
  • Consistently push to open and close doors to the facilities and storage rooms, as well as cooler and freezers.
  • Frequently stoop to pick up supplies and trash.
  • Working with extremely hot appliances and cooking items regularly.
  • Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity regularly.
  • EQUIPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: (Machines, devices, tools, etc., used in job performance and the conditions under which the job is accomplished).
  • Equipment (Most Frequently Used):

Meat slicers, fryers, batter tables, ovens, hot plates, steam wells, drink systems, cash registers, calculators, warming lamps, and filtering machines.

  • Environmental Conditions:
  • Subject to both inside and occasional outside environmental conditions; work activities occur both inside and outside.
  • Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of time in freezers.
  • Exposed to extreme heat: temperatures reaching 80-95 degrees consistently around fryer and warming lamps.
  • Exposed to hazards, which includes moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to high heat of chemicals and food such as cooking oils.
  • Subject to one or more of the following conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses or poor ventilation.
  • Subject to frequent high levels of noise.
