Department Overview
The Enterprise Health and Safety organization is a team of dedicated safety professionals committed to using their skills and experience to keep our employees safe. The organization works closely with all functional areas by providing the vision for enterprise-wide programs to meet PG&E’s objectives of safety and health. The program managers are a trusted resource for safety and health related information.
Position Summary
Oversee and manage contractor services for Industrial Athlete program.
Train and onboard contract staff in industrial athlete services.
Define strategy and prioritize projects to align with department goals and fostering integration of projects into larger pilots aimed to reduce musculoskeletal disorder (MSD injuries).
Develop key metrics to monitor program effectiveness in reducing industrial-based musculoskeletal disorders injuries.
Work with functional areas to deploy industrial athlete process across enterprise for the physical workforce. Work with key stakeholders to maintain and adopt governing documents to clearly define and describe scope, objective, purpose, roles, and responsibilities of all individuals engaged in or supporting the industrial athlete program.
Arrange for data collection, tracking, recording, and dashboard reporting and collaborate with functional area teams to fulfill all reporting requirements.
Work closely with department manager on continuous improvement of program.
Coordinate with other ergonomic program managers for effective adoption and utilization.
Ability to build operational processes.
The work location is flexible.
Requires travel 25%-50% along the PG&E service territory.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000
and/or
California Minimum: $108,000
California Maximum: $173,000
Job Responsibilities
Works with functional area leadership for engagement and program implementation.
Ensures mutual collaboration with functional areas and integrates in all levels of the organization regarding safety and ergonomics.
Serves as a liaison between the technical and practical aspect of ergonomics and industrial athlete programs and ensures implementation into the functional areas.
Frequently shares ergonomics, safety and wellness information to all in an impactful and results oriented way.
Conducts trending of data to understand leading indicators of musculoskeletal disorder issues.
Communicates MSD injury trends and recommends corrective actions.
Mentors supervisors on safety process and applicable programs.
Strategizes approach for functional areas to measure success in safety measures.
Provides strategic cost-effective actions.
Utilizes trending analysis to identify and mitigates actions to correct gaps.
Introduces and implements innovative solutions with impact to correct gaps.
Communicates opportunities for improvement.
Delivers ergonomics, safety, and health and wellness training and measures the effectiveness of training.
Partners with learning academy to improve training quality.
Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the various companywide initiatives. (Culture, near hit, grassroots, ergonomics, etc.).
Conducts gap analysis of safety programs.
Helps develop and implement new safety programs.
Conducts field observation.
May provide guidance to Safety Specialists.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
Background and work experience in ergonomics, sports medicine, and/or musculoskeletal injury prevention
7+ years of progressive experience in ergonomics and/or musculoskeletal injury prevention program development/management; preferably in a construction, utility, or material handling environment
Proficiency in MS office suite
Desired:
Ergonomics and/or sports medicine certification(s)
Advanced knowledge of PG&E safety procedures, the Code of Safe Practices and organizational safety-related processes and procedures
Ability to interpret and implement safety regulations to improve the PG&E safety culture
Advanced knowledge of key PG&E organizations and their potential exposure to safety and health risks
Background and work experience in sport med, msd injury prevention, and/or ergonomics
2-3 yrs vendor mgmt
Effective clear concise verbal and written communications
Create and deliver presentations at all levels of org
5+ yrs progressive experience developing and managing injury prevention and/or ergo programs
Analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex issues
Ability to influence others to support change, ensure understanding and gain buy-in
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with different stakeholders
