Bethel Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, small animal practice in beautiful Bethel, Ct. We are seeking a friendly, fast-paced, customer focused receptionist to join our team. We boast a beautiful state of the art facility and great working environment. We are dedicated to provide compassionate care for our patients.

We are seeking a receptionist that shares our continued mission of excellence and warmth.

Job duties include (but are not limited to):

-Greet clients and pets upon entering.

-Ensure that the reception area, lobby, and exam rooms are clean and odor free.

-Check that addresses and phone numbers on medical records are current.

-Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital policy.

-Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner.

-Record all information, including requests and communications by clients and referring veterinary hospitals, doctors and other staff in medical record.

-Call to confirm next day appointments, follow up with hospitalized and surgical patients.

-Properly address the needs of patients with acute symptoms (triage emergencies)

-Fill prescriptions and provide routine instructions.

-Prepare invoices, collect and process payments.

-Explain all invoices in detail to clients.

-End of day/shift balancing of cash and reconciliation of credit.

-Review charts of all discharged patients for completeness.

-Retrieve, update and file patient records. Prepare client consent forms and boarding agreements.

-Act as a client liaison throughout visit-ensure waiting times and kept to a minimum, ensure staff has attended to treatment requests and requests for information.

-Communicate with staff and client to ensure workflow is completed.

-Other duties as assigned.
