POSITION SUMMARY:

An Expeditor is responsible for expediting assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase orders are accomplished. They will maintain the accuracy and efficient flow of components and finished goods into and out of departments. This position requires coordination and communication with all functions within the facility to ensure effective operation of the department and timely manufacture of shop orders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all shop orders issued to the manufacturing floor are accurate and that all components required are available by coordinating with Warehouse personnel.
• Maintain and update records daily of components scheduled that can/cannot be produced.
• Communicate with supervisor and other relative departments regarding status of components deliveries and the status of non-producible shop orders.
• Responsible for ensuring material is transferred through various stages of completion.
• Collaborating with project management in preparation for project review meetings.
• Follow established guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Nest sheet metal profiles weekly maximizing sheet utilization for minimum waste.
• Plan and schedule work orders with department leads per MRP scheduled dates.
• Interpret drawings and bills of material.
• Be familiar with the operation and maintenance of laser cutting machines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma: one to three years related work experience in a manufacturing support role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with high and low volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate laser machines an advantage.

CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Must be able to communicate professionally within all levels of the organization both written and orally.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities is required.
