Summary:
Performs highly confidential, complex administrative duties for a senior-level executive; transcribes, types, maintains records and files meets department objectives; participates in the team or group work activities in the office; performs the above duties and responsibilities in a highly complex and confidential environment requiring direct supervision from a senior-level executive, with broader latitude for utilizing judgment and initiative.

This job involves supporting programmatic and research activities from the office of the Senior Vice President for Basic Research at Roswell Park. Primary roles of the position will involve:

Supporting the office in driving programmatic research initiatives including communications, scientific editing writing, development of presentations, and overall project responsibility.

Assisting with grant and manuscript submissions. Including tracking development of these activities from initiation through completion, with hands-on participation in editing and graphical representations.

Developing platforms for communication including web-content, mailers, and internal documents to highlight research ongoing within the organization.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time secretarial or related experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have an Bachelor's degree degree or higher with a background in scientific research, administration, and technical presentation/writing. The preferred candidate should have exceptional writing and editing skills for general communication, strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Additionally, the preferred candidate should have experience tracking projects, developing milestones, to successful completion; skills in computer graphics and presentation development.
