JOB DESCRIPTION: Event Coordinators will work with Event Managers to manage events and direct Event Staff Supervisors/Event Staff and provide guidance for appropriate responses to field situations based on company, client and/or venue policies and procedures. The coordinator would work with the Event Managers at multiple venues including but not limited to FedEx Field, University of Maryland, Audi Field, Nationals Park, Capital One Arena, Entertainment and Sports Arena, Royal Farms Arena, etc. Other duties and responsibilities include:
  • Maintain a valid and current security guard license or its equivalent as required in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
  • Teach and enforce operating standards.
  • Serves as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and other event management operations.
  • Communicate with and “brief” event staff.
  • Manage supervisors/staff responsible for event coordination activities.
  • Coordinate details of events such as sporting events, concerts, conferences, trade shows and other various events.
  • Define the company brand through events.
  • Ensure staff is adequately prepared for the event.
  • Prepares paperwork, uniforms and equipment needed for the event.
  • Helps managers schedule events.
  • Is present during the event and handle issues and problems as they arise before, during and after an event Be a part of Washington D.C's sports and entertainment industry:
  • Assist our operations with the following Washington D.C Major sports Teams: Commanders, DC United, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent in Business Management, Sports Management, or related area
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATH ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Explorer; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; and Microsoft Share point.
