• 2nd Shift Openings
• Late afternoon start times
• Machine Shop works 4:30 pm - 5:00 am
• Saw shop works 4:30 pm - 5:00 am
• Heat Treat works 8:00 pm - 6:30 am

Scot Forge is an employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings used in demanding applications all over the world.
We have locations in Clinton, WI, Spring Grove, IL and Franklin Park, IL.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Run production, monitoring saw /CNC machines/ lathes / mills / furnace / presses, check parts throughout run making necessary adjustments to conform to specifications. Select tools based on process and various materials.
• Adjust feeds and speeds, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls and position of cut. Edit G & M codes (will train if needed).
• Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures.
• Monitor entire run, due to unique forgings, when using edited or new program to ensure safe run conditions and quality specifications are met.
• Prior to loading part, identify metal, material type, verify blueprint and dimensions.
• Read and understand entire part routing.
• Visually inspect, layout and prepare materials as required for CNC or saws. Examine material visually for flaws, defects, and clean-up.
• Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure the safe lifting and transporting of parts.
• Load material into machine utilizing overhead crane and secure to ensure safe machining on forgings that can exceed 100,000 lbs. using various lifting apparatus.
• Maintain knowledge of processes through training while providing quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
• Select, load, and verify existing program to ensure safe and productive machining- edit if necessary, notifying Supervisor or Group Leader of changes.
• Actively participate in safety program to ensure safe work behaviors and conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Use of common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.)
• Blueprint reading
• Forklift Operation
• Preventative Maintenance
• Shop math and computer skills
• Hand tools
• Prior experience preferred
• Crane rigging and operation experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
