Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager or his/her designee, the Outreach and Enrollment Specialist is responsible for managing and ensuring that patient eligibility for SDFHC, local, state and federal healthcare programs is conducted. This includes staff liaison, liaison with healthcare programs, community outreach and SDFHC program development to facilitate access to health, disability and public assistance benefits programs for all patients. This position also requires daily travel to all of our health centers (Val Verde, Canyon Country, Valencia) to ensure that all patients have their enrollemnt services needs met. The Outreach and Enrollment Speacialist will also be in charge of scheduling and attending outreach events (including weekends).

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish required. Strong management skills, including team building and supervision with the ability to work independently. Extremely detail-oriented and able to provide precise quality control review over all patient program eligibility matters. Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving skills; adept at multitasking. Sensitivity and ability to serve clients from diverse backgrounds. Working computer skills including MS Office, EMR and other software systems.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of two years documented experience within the immediate past five years with public health benefits programs such as Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, HMO, PPO, CHDP, EWC (CDP), MHLA and programs for the uninsured. Must be knowledgeable and experienced with Covered California.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to pass an initial and annual physical assessment and TB test and pass an initial background check conducted by the agency. Must be able to present a positive image of the organization and establish a warm, friendly and welcoming environment to all visitors to the health centers. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written, and strong organizational, problem solving, time management, customer service and multi-tasking skills. Attention to detail, quality focus and customer service skills are essential. Must be knowledgeable of office and medical equipment/machines and Practice Management/Electronic Medical Record systems. Ability to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the job with minimal supervision and make decisions where the decision making involves good judgment.

Must be able to apply and comply with agency policies and procedures as well as all regulatory standards.

Expected to obtain within 90 days of hiring a CPR and First Aid Certification and all training required for MHLA, Medi-Cal, and Covered California. If candidate is not a certified enrollment counselor, they must be certified within 90 days of hiring.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
