Job Title: Engineering - Team Lead

Department: Construction Services

Job Title Reporting to: Paul Cerejo - Manager

I. Primary Purpose & Value of the Department & Position

The Construction Services department is accountable for developing and maintaining a pipeline of new orders including our engineering teams - delivering exceptional customer service and sound financial outcomes.

The Engineering team Lead will be responsible to track and monitor the engineering que and assist in managing our day to day engineering tasks with the team. They will assist construction services manager with outsourcing final plan sets for stamp, prepare various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, produce and manage customer layouts, blueprints and sketches. They will also be responsible for maintaining outstanding relations with our outside engineering partners.

II. Primary Duties & Responsibilities *

Track and approve / reject incoming invoices from outside engineering partners

Manage the internal engineering requests and outsourcing work-flow daily, assign jobs to engineers and track incoming requests

Work with sales and in-house engineering as needed to develop better standards for our drawings.

Ensure that team final designs are compliant with building regulations and customer specifications.

Identify and communicate potential design problems and share documents with our procurement on a continuous basis to make sure our material specs are up to date.

Identify value add opportunities to reduce engineering and drafting costs and improve construction efficiency with our structures.

Development external leadership and relationships with our outside engineering 10% vendors.

V. Tools Required

  • Possess working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, daily correspondence, shop drawings, and all other project related documents.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and seek guidance early in the process
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize tasks repeatedly throughout the day to meet commitments
  • Show strong personal initiative, effective interpersonal skills, and unwavering commitment to safety
  • Software programs as appropriate to facilitate the work required

VII. Education & Experience Qualifications

List qualifications necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities listed above.

Minimum:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Civil or Structural Degree from an accredited technical college Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Preferred:

Experience with carports, solar, renewable energy projects Proficient in use of company software programs and tools. For example: Autodesk, Excel, MS Word, Project scheduling software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
