About the Team:
Join our TikTok HR team as an Employee Relations Lead. You will join a fast-growing company and help shape our TikTok people experience. This position will be responsible for employee relations matters, advising HR Business Partners and business stakeholders on performance management approach, appropriate disciplinary actions, and developing our investigative processes. This is a people manager role, it can be based in New York City or Nashville.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner closely with HRBPs and people managers on ER-related matters, including advising on employee discipline, underperformance, terminations, reasonable accommodations, complex leave scenarios, and other related matters.
  • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification.
  • Design policy content and deliver training for employees, managers, and the HR team that ensure compliance with relevant legislative changes and guide ER best practices and help identify strategies to enhance the employee relations capabilities of our people leaders.
  • Manage all aspects of ER cases, including: investigation strategy and risk assessment in partnership with Employment Counsel and HRBPs; conducting interviews, preparing reports, and owning investigation outcomes and closeout; tracking and preparing status updates and coordinating input from multiple stakeholders; and advising on and overseeing disciplinary and remediation actions.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibilities in employee relations, HR compliance, and/or employment legal.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • Expertise in consultation, investigations, guidance, policy development, and coaching to managers to address sensitive and/or difficult employee behavior and performance concerns.
  • Prior experience in designing/implementing HR compliance and employee relations processes, policies, and systems that work at scale.
  • Proven ability to establish influential partnerships working with peers, senior leaders, and across organizational lines to provide effective and strategic employee relations counsel.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, prioritize conflicting demands, and execute initiatives with a bias towards actions and solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in regulatory areas (i.e. EEOC, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, work council, trade unions, etc.)

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $111600 - $249600 annually.



Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
